L’appellation brève du Séminaire international sur les systèmes de transports urbains durables est le forum THNS qui doit son origine au séminaire franco-chinois sur les systèmes de transports urbains durables, projet mis en place au début pour mettre en oeuvre l’accord de coopération en matière de développement durable signé en novembre 2007 par le Ministère du Logement et du développement urbain-rural de Chine (ex-ministère de la Construction) et le Ministère français de l’Ecologie, de l’Energie, du Développement durable et de la Mer. En 2015 , un avenant renouvelant cet accord de coopération a été signé par le Ministère des Transports de Chine et le Ministère français de l’Ecologie, du Développement Durable et de l’Energie.

We sincerely appreciate your participation in previous THNS Forum sessions. As an International Symposium on the Sustainable Development of Urban Transport Systems, THNS (derived from "Transport à Haut Niveau de Service" - high-level service transport) has served since 2008 as a vital platform for East-West knowledge exchange. The forum facilitates sharing of cutting-edge research, innovative technologies, and practical implementation experiences, primarily serving academics and consultants while also benefiting policymakers and industry professionals.
Six months have passed since our successful THNS2024 session, where we hosted over 30 insightful presentations on "TRANSFORMING TRANSPORT." We are grateful for your continued support and hope you’ve had a productive period since then.
We are now pleased to announce THNS2025, scheduled for November 12-13 in a hybrid format (onsite in Shanghai and online). This year’s theme, "The Value of Transport," will explore six key sub-themes :
Theme 1 : Quality of service
Theme 2 : Value creation of rapid transit
Theme 3 : Overall value to community and funding systems
Theme 4 : Health and transportation
Theme 5 : Transport and energy
Theme 6 : Autonomous vehicles and their applications

We cordially invite you to submit your presentation proposal via our official website :https://thns.tongji.edu.cn before July 10th. Submissions should include a title and a short abstract (approximately 300 words). Notification of acceptance will be sent by July 30. Accepted speakers are requested to prepare a 15-minute presentation in English.
Registration (free of charge) is mandatory for all participants, including speakers and attendees, and must be completed online by September 10.
To recognize excellence in research, THNS2025 will confer "Best Research Awards" for outstanding contributions. These awards aim to encourage original research and significant advancements in the field. The selection will be made by the THNS2025 Scientific Committee, with results announced within one month after the symposium.
At the end of the mail, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Jean-François Janin, Co-founder and Honorary Chairman for Life of THNS, on 6th February 2025. In his honor, we have created a memorial page on our website (https://thns.tongji.edu.cn/5c/e5/c19854a351461/page.htm). We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may we continue to uphold the values and vision he so passionately instilled in THNS.
